In the fifth inning, the White Sox pushed across their only run of the day on an error.

By GameChanger

Two pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter for the Phillies in a 21-1 victory in six innings over the Mets on Tuesday at Buckeye.

Matty Vicencio and Ty Ewing tallied 11 strikeouts and walked three in completing the no-no. Vicencio shut down the Mets while he was on the mound. Vicencio held the Mets hitless over three innings, allowed one unearned run, walked two and struck out five.

Ewing pulled double duty, leading the Phillies on both offense and defense in the win. Ewing racked up six RBIs on four hits for the Phillies. He homered in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the first and fifth innings.

Ewing pitched lights out for the Phillies. Ewing held the Mets hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six.

Eleven runs in the first three innings helped the Phillies blow out the Mets. A two-run triple by Vicencio, an RBI single by Ewing, an RBI double by Sam Saracevic, a walk by Jake Breul, a two-run single by Max Stryker, and a steal of home by Breul in the first inning and a three-run home run by Ewing during the second inning helped the Phillies put some runs on the board early.

The Phillies hammered the Mets pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 14 hits, 15 RBIs and 18 runs scored.

The Phillies built upon their lead with seven runs in the fourth. The inning looked promising, as Zach Goldman singled, scoring Zach Tom to kick things off. That was followed up by Ewing's double, bringing home Goldman.

The Phillies added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Ewing's single got things going, scoring Tom. That was followed up by Saracevic's single, bringing home Goldman.
